The Freeing of Kamchack Part I

[Conclusion of Kamchacks Ensnarement by Tarenessa for background click this]

Kamchack remembered a little of his time in the Sultanates Possession. Ashoka would often call him out of his crystal for amusement referring to the Crystal as her "New Toy", she did not seem to understand what she had in her possession,  she called him Djinn or Genie and tried to demand he gave her 3 wishes. The times he was brought forth he was bound to the bearer of the Crystal and he saw in The Grand Vizier Ashoka an almost fanatical desire to please the Sultan of Nujelm, nothing would stop this woman from attaining that end, she was ruthless strong willed and spoilt she sought material gain as well as wishing to wield power, he reminded her of Tarenessa but she did not seek magic to further her aims, she sought political power. The Sultanate were new to Kamchack having only arrived in Trinsic shortly after his capture. Aviendah of the Trinsic Paladins had this to say about her recent encounter with the sultanate:-

Hail all leaders
As I was on my way to the archery competition on Friday I was called upon by a stranger with an accent.
He introduced himself and his colleagues as being new to the city of Trinsic and requested that he speak to my leaders.
I could nay see anyone around me of higher rank at that time and knowing how busy Wolfric can be, I agreed to pass on a message on his behalf.

Amir Kane of the Sultanate of Nujelm requests a meet between his leader and the leaders of our guild to discuss diplomatic relations. If our leaders were interested they were to post a message on their boards, I believe. I was most polite and knowing they were new to our fair city invited them to watch the competition by the river.

I was too late to enter by that time so stood back and watched. I then noticed that there seemed to be something agitating the visitors. Amir Kane seemed deeply annoyed and insistent that our citizens were ruffians. The cause was a young orphan by the name of Gared. I tried to explain that he was only a young lad and he was nay trying to be awkward or of any trouble but then I saw him being dragged away by the ear by one of their guards. I spoke to the guard and persuaded him to release the child who by this time was quiet upset. Gared insisted that he was not hassling them and wanted us to arrest them for hitting him. Without any proof I could nay do any such thing. Darius Demetrius arrived and calmed the boy down and we both asked Gared to stay out of their way as none of us know of their ways and culture.

I left the boy in Darius’ capable hands once he was calm and went to watch the competition again. Reann of LB was the overall winner. Well done!! *claps*

While I chatted to Black Panther and Lana Daring, Gared came running up to me and tugged my arm. His nose was bleeding so I handed him some bandages to stop the bleeding and asked him what was wrong. At first I thought that he had not heeded our words earlier and had really upset the visitors. But this time it was someone else. While I spoke to him Ivan the cook arrived and I gathered that it was a woman by the name of Tarenessa…the one that had ensnared Kamchack’s soul and that she was in discussion with the visitors, in the orphanage, about a sale, and had knocked Gared when he insisted that he had a right to be there.

I spoke to Orius about the situation and four of us proceeded there to investigate. They were in the meeting room and only Orius was permitted an audience with ‘Her eminence’ Ashoka. Panther, Lana and I waited outside the room but kept alert as we were not sure of their true purpose in Trinsic. They seemed to be protecting Tarenessa and gated her with them when they left.

Since then I have noticed their presence though in small numbers around the city. If this should continue I would urge our leaders to investigate further. They may be friend or may be foe, that is yet to be determined but I suggest to perhaps find out more about them and their nature and why they have chosen our city as a meeting place.

Better to be sure now than to stumble and falter later?

*salutes*

Kamchack was with the Grand Vizier when she began her dealings with the Duchy of Trinsic she wrote many letters to them trying to build links with them as she would perhaps need to trade with them for Nujelm was an Island with few resources, Kamchack was puzzled by their ways and watched as an objective observer, unable to intervene, but he became frustrated and angered when he read the message about the capture of the Ruadnit Troi a woman he counted as a dear friend.

As we rode into the town of Trinsic this day, dark-skinned, magnificently clad and bejeweled foreigners, the Trinsician guards appeared a bit restive. The fiery Arabian mares had been well exercised, but it seems the Bedhouin men were hot-blooded still. Behestous in particular, could not keep his roving eye from the women. One of them caught his gaze. It was the one they called Ruadnit Troi, that same female who tossed water upon Onyko, and had behaved so rudely to us. In the manner of our people, we tried to negotiate for her price, however these men of Trinsic do not seem to understand our ways. Becoming impatient, Behestous tossed her over his saddle and rode off with her, another instance of our customs coming to fruition.

For some strange reason this provoked much anger in the men of the north. The Baron himself throwing harsh words of violence, and threatened to break off the peace negotiations. The one named Albion had agreed to fight a combat for the skinny female, another tried to buy the wench back. Still others came to plead with us for mercy. Another still, one named Sauron of the Duchy, presented Us with a rare seed, that is said to breed a flower as white as milk. Finally, we agreed to house the female in the Sultan's harem, may he live forever, and clothe her with magnificent silks and jewels until such a time as we could decide what her fate would be. Behestous of course, would be given another plumper female to ease himself with.

In between most exhausting audiences, although quite profitable! We received a message form the Baron, containing his desire for a private audience. As his gift was truly wonderous, being special flowers as well as a cloak made of bronze, a truly unique and amazing gift, one worthy to be worn by the Sultan Himself, may his beard grow ever longer and more oiled!, we granted him mercy for his harsh words, and learned more of the ways of Trinsic. Negotiations are prospering.

Lastly, we granted a boon to the Baron, and requested him to name his desire. He asked for our newest harem member to amuse him, a desire we can, and indeed will, grant. As he stated, He desires, preferably, the newest of females, one who had not yet come to the eye of the Sultan, may his wives bear only sons!, one who is yet pure, as he may desire to teach her the ways of His people, and perhaps one day wed her, one of his land, and one who knows the forests. We know of this one, and shall grant him his request. (We do not know why one would wed a kadin, however, that is the choice of the man that possesses the female, surely.) Therefore tomorrow we shall have the desired female delivered to the Baron in Trinsic. Should she be displeasing, He may return her within three days, and perhaps we can find one more pleasing, one more trained. O Fox of the North, we do not see how thee can truly desire such a one when plumper and more willing females be available, and this one has already caused much trouble! But then there are some men who prefer spirit in a female, much like our Behestous!

May the Winds of the desert be at thy back!

Ashoka Naz'Rudin

Tarenessa did not fit in well with the Sultanate, perhaps she thought she had not been given enough power so she wrote a letter to the Grand Vizier:-

One desires an audience. It was not my intention to disrupt thy trade agreements, but it is also not my intention to grovel to Ikus or Sims Roggan. It is not in my Codes to do so.

We had an agreement. A Position of Power for Kamchack.

You have not upheld your end of the bargain, for any idiot with an Axe can be an executioner.

I know 139 ways to kill a man with my hands, and countless ways using tools, weapons and magic. My skills are not being used, nor tested.

I ask for an audience, that we may speak of this.

Tarenessa.

her words against the Duke and Baron of Trinsic angered the Grand Vizier who wrote a letter to Tarenessa:-

 Salaam Aleikum, Tarenessa,

We also had an agreement, that thee swore Utter loyalty and Obedience to Us and to the Sultanate when thee paid Homage to his Stone. We know what Loyalty and Obedience is, (for have We not given up even the hopes of husband and children in the interests of serving the Most High Sultan?)
Thee do not know what loyalty is, Thee are governed by thy temper and the desire for gold only. We do not scorn thee for thy ways. It is thy kismet to be made thusly. We do not spit upon thee for not wishing to grovel. This is also thy way.
We, however, can not trust thy loyalty to Us, since thee refused to do Our bidding and beg forgiveness of the ones thee insulted, while representing Us and the Golden Asp, the Most High Sultan. (May his beard grow ever longer)

As for thy Audience, This cannot be granted. Thee have disobeyed Us. Thee think thyself above Our Decree. How then, can We think thee capable of actions of Honor? How then, can We believe Ourself safe in thy presence? Thee boast of thy prowess in killing. Why then, would We be foolish enough to place Our person where thee might be tempted to show such Prowess?

Taranessa, thee are not in Our favor now.Thee have given Our prospective allies cause to mistrust Our Intentions. Thee have injured Our peace negotiations and trade agreements, causing Us to perhaps lose great profit for the Sultan. And thee come prattling to Us about thy djinni in the bottle (which did not even grant wishes!)

Thee are forbidden Our Presence. We shall consult with Our Amir regarding these matters, for He is a wise man and one that We have learned to trust, because He has proven it over and over.
We banish thee from Our Guards. We do not forgive. We do not forget. For it is a foolish man who allows his enemies a chance to strike a second time.

May the desert winds be at thy back, Taranessa, and guide thee along thy destiny.

Tarenessas reply was short:-

Then..... you have something of mine. I want it back.

I hope we can part paths on good terms Your Eminance.

Tarenessa.

Tarenessa did not waste time in seeking out the crystal containing Kamchack, she sensed it out and found taking it an easy matter for ultimately it was still hers, she discarded her Sultanate uniform, another thing about the Sultanate she had not liked. She returned to her tower and calling Kamchack forth again she smiled coldly saying, "Perhaps I shall sell you back to your friends, I tire of their constant demands." with that she placed the crystal in her bag and made her way to Trinsic.
